"Challenges are temporary but the impact from different relationships in our lives can be long lasting. As parents, stepparents, spouses, and teenagers, our existing tools can seem as though they are not enough. Even the best parents can face difficult and unexpected hurdles. During these times parenting can feel challenging and even overwhelming. If you want to add to your skills, enrich your toolbox, and find new ways to create stronger more meaningful connections with those in your relationships I can help."
Christie works with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families using several evidenced based treatment approaches.
"I am very passionate about counseling and believe that the hardest moments as individuals, parents, and couples can be overcome. Balance and harmony can be found even in the biggest challenges.I am a licensed, Nationally Certified Counselor, with specialized training in Marriage and Family, as well as, additional training in adolescent, child, and play therapy. I am a Certified Canine Therapy Dog Handler and Elvis, often works with families and children during sessions. Each approach taken is as unique as each family and individual."

"Instead of seeing the rug being pulled from underneath us, we can learn to dance on a shifting carpet."

Whether it is life challenges, obstacles or transitions that are prompting you to seek counseling, today you are one step closer to your personal journey of growth and healing.  Fear of change is a natural feeling, but can prevent us from letting go of old beliefs, behaviors, ways of being and situations that are no longer beneficial to our wellbeing.
As a therapist, I use complementary approaches personalized to your specific needs in a compassionate, safe and confidential space.  I work with individuals, adolescents, couples and families and have experience helping those suffering from the far-reaching effects of addiction within the family, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, divorce, relationship issues and trauma.
It is my passion and honor to collaborate with you in uncovering the blocks to your true potential and moving towards leading a life worth celebrating.

Kelly Alford LPC Intern
supervised by Sallie E. Ingle MA LPC-S

Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern with over a decade of experience in the world of education.  As a teacher and school counselor she has worked with hundreds of teenagers and parents. It was during this time in education that Kelly noticed a great need to help students and families deal with the stress of balancing school, extra-curricular activities, social needs, and family relationships.  This experience inspired her shift from education to professional counseling.
“It takes courage to reach out when you are in need.  Everyone has a story or struggles that need to be dealt with, it is a universal human issue.  I have always been drawn to listening to others and helping them process life challenges and achieve goals.  I am here to partner with you to focus on understanding your true self to work through difficult issues. Developing a sense of true self helps us stay centered even in the messiest of times.” -Kelly
